Of all the nominated Best Picture in the recently concluded 85th Academy Awards which we all know as oh! the Oscars, I was able to watch only Argo, Les Miserables and Zero Dark Thirty, yeah only three. As a result, I never tried to bring out my scorecard as to which movie should win Best Picture nor who should be Best Actor or Best Actress (though I am already sure that Anne Hathaway will steal the Oscars for Best Supporting Actress). Critics say that it did not come as a surprise that Daniel Day Lewis would bring home the trophy for Best Actor. Of course! It’s hard to be President of the United States of America, no? One thing we learned from the real Lincoln: Government of the people, for the people and by the people should not perish from the earth (and politicians who screw up and spend the money of the people, for the people and by the people should perish on the earth…well I said that not Lincoln 🙂
Moving on to the Best Actress category, I was not also able to watch Silver Linings Playbook. I thought it was some adventure themed movie like Back to the Future or Jumanji. I should see this and find out why Jennifer Lawrence won because the last time I watched her movie Winter’s Bone prior to her Oscar nomination as Best Actress in the year 2010, I didn’t like it 🙁
Though its the other way around, but it seemed like the flashing of the dirty finger came first then she was cursed and fell on stage.
Argo grabbing the Best Picture award is quite a surprise to me. Yes I watched the movie, I liked it but it really never dawned on me that this will be the Best Picture. Well, I can’t seemed to trust my judgement because my obsession with Osama Bin Laden is as high as Jessica Chastain’s character Maya in the Movie Zero Dark Thirty which was also up for Oscars Best Picture category. Both movies were about the CIA, terrorists, USA, Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan (these countries all seemed to end with “an”…please spare Oman).
Here are some more of the oh! The Oscars moments.
If you did not hear her sing on the Oscars stage, by the look of this photo Adele seemed to be singing “There’s a fire starting in my heart…”. But after all she sang Skyfall which won Best Original Song from the James Bond movie of the same title. Rolex kept on arguing that there is a wide array of beautiful music in Les Miserables, why Adele?
Rolex mentioned why Barbara Streisand seemed like she never grow old. Absolutely, she is at her most beautiful here. She came back to perform at the Oscars Awards night after 36 years and sang The Way We Were. I love this movie. Robert Redford is like Brad Pitt in his times or Brad Pitt is like Robert Redford now. Just a simple trivia, didn’t you know that Barbara Streisand has won an Oscar, Grammy, Emmy and Tony? Can you beat that?
The performance of the Les Miserables cast was much applauded but still this is my favorite of all the Les Miserables performance, though not in the Oscars.
