Hey ladies, don’t tell me you don’t know this guy? I first laid eyes on him in the movie Coach Carter. I wasn’t really drawn to him, he’s not my type noh! 🙂 However, I am only 1% and 99% of the female population has the deepest sense of affection for this father of one baby girl whose wife Jenna Dewan (sorry, he’s taken) just gave birth last May 31, 2013. However, it seemed like not only women worship, men too. According to an article in LAtimes.com, “some experts say boys are starting to face the pressures long placed on girls, as buff, bare men proliferate in pop culture. Boys today watch Channing Tatum strip as “Magic Mike”.” In the same article, the following facts resulted in most recent studies:
- High school boys in Los Angeles are twice as likely to induce vomiting or use laxatives to control their weight as the national average – Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Los Angeles Unified School District.
- Estimated number of males hospitalized for eating disorders rose 53% between 1999 and 2009 – according to US Government data
It’s no wonder if Tom Ford is launching his new luxury line of men’s cosmetics and grooming products this fall. I mean if you’re the kind of guy who is purging after eating, then you wouldn’t mind purchasing a single men’s concealer for $78 (do men use concealer in the first place?).
Is this reversal of the sexes? If women used to be so vain, has men overtook this realm? I can actually feel it. At home, I am known to have the construction worker’s appetite while Rolex is having half a cup of rice once a freakin’ day (only during lunch)!
For the men, who doesn’t want to look like Channing Tatum? For women, who doesn’t want to HAVE and to HOLD Channing Tatum?
